I felt that I was not alone in my struggles. I met people from different generations who are facing similar struggles and are all humble enough to be open to learning. It is easy to forget that there are people who can understand what seemed like very 'special' struggles.
It's not just the program but the warmth of our teachers and my classmates. Their presence is very healing. There's something about Mr. & Mrs. Bonifacio that feels like a safe space, and it's like they really want to learn from us too even though they are already very well-read and smart. They were able to set that learning atmosphere and we all just went along.
The warmth, pacing, and shared honesty of the cohort come through most clearly in the words people carried home.
